Sony's Handycam HD-XR550V is a high-end High-Definition Video Camcorder. It uses a 240GB hard drive to store videos and images. Users of the XR550V can record videos in Full HD and can take 12 megapixel high-resolution still images. HD-XR550V has Dual Record capability. This means that users can take capture 8.3 megapixel still image shots while recording videos. The benefit to this is that there is no need and inconvenience of switching between the two recording modes. This Handycam video camcorder is a special feature. It has a built-in GPS receiver. This premium feature allows users to view their current location on the LCD display and to tag videos and images with these locations. This feature is great for helping users remember the locations for their videos and images. There's no need to worry about camera shake. Handycam HD-XR550V has Optical SteadyShot image stabilization technology that helps produce smooth video recording. A 3-Way Shake-Cancelling adds to the professional looking videos by further reducing the undesired movements that occur during the recording experience. While Sony's XR550V primarily records onto a hard drive, it also has flash media capability. The Handycam has a hybrid recording system built-in where users can choose to record to the 240GB hard drive or to a removable flash media.
